How You Can Help

No Drugs Down the Drain

Dispose of Pharmaceuticals at the new Police Department Drop Box

It used to be common to flush medications down the drain. Today we know medications can pass through the treatment plant into the Bay, harming fish and the environment.

Here’s What You Can do

Take unused, unwanted or expired pharmaceuticals to the new Pharmaceutical Drop box at the Sausalito Police Department:

  • Location: 29 Caledonia Street, Sausalito, Ca. 94965 in the lobby
  • Open Times: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Hours may vary, please call ahead to confirm. 415-289-4174

Please follow these simple procedures to ensure safe and efficient collection:

  1. Remove pills from containers and place in a Ziploc Bag Use 6" x 6" (sandwich) or 7" x 8" (larger bags will not fit in t he collection bin).
  2. Liquids, ointments, lotions, etc. should remain in their original containers and placed in bag if there is room.
