Because of the transfer of the City of Sausalito Sewer Collection System to Sausalito-Marin City Sanitary District (SMCSD), the District adopted the City of Sausalito’s rates as calculated by their Sewer Collection Rate Study (April 2024) through the Proposition 218 process. Starting in July 1, 2026, City ratepayers will only have one charge from SMCSD that will include the collection, transport and treatment of their wastewater. Click here for More Rate Information.
Highlights
Effective March 7, 2026 SMCSD has a revised connection fee schedule. See Ordinance 103 for specific details and pricing. To review the connection fee study, click here.

Only Flush Toilet Paper
Never Flush Wipes, Paper Towels, or Anything but Toilet Paper
- Wipes cause costly, messy, unsanitary clogs and spills.
- Microfibers can shed off wipes and enter the environment.
- Masses of wipes and other non-flushables can damage treatment plants.
